Description
This natural archway is located at Lighthouse Point, the entrance to Halibut Cove in the Kenai Peninsula Borough of Alaska. Halibut Cove is a small community accessible only by boat or small plane. Located across the bay from Homer Alaska in Kachemak Bay Alaska's first State Park. The park area is a total of 400,000 acres of mountains, glaciers, forests, coastline and ocean. Visitors frequently observe sea otters, harbor seals, porpoise, and a variety of whale species.
In 2000, there were 35 people, 18 households, and 12 families residing in Halibut Cove. Population in 2010 was 76. The primary mode of transportation is by foot, skiff or ATV
