Description
As I was hurrying down the beach this morning trying to get to my photo destination before the tide receded I see out of the corner of my eye this tiny baby Loggerhead only seconds before the tide water got to him and swept him away to his life in the ocean! Of course my camera was on my shoulder, but I was quick to swing it around and at least get a couple of shots in. It was a magical moment and made my entire day! This little must have been a late hatchling because I had seen hatched eggs up in the dunes but no sign of babies.
The Loggerhead Sea Turtle is one of the most migratory of marine turtles sometimes traveling across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Found around the world in subtropical climates the largest breeding populations are in the Southeastern United States from North Carolina down through Florida.

So precious!! Fabulous image! LOVE the flipper prints in the sand as it makes its way to the water! Just excellent!
